Meet Daye!

Daye is the chillest girl around. She loves people, loves being outside, and is perfectly happy to go with the flow. Her ideal day is basically a little adventure followed by becoming a cozy baked potato and snoozing the day away.

She’s an absolute dream to have around. Daye is potty trained and does great in the car. She isn’t bothered by fireworks or thunderstorms, so loud noises and stormy days are no big deal to this laid-back girl. She’s also wonderfully cooperative for grooming. She’ll tolerate a bath just fine and will even let you clip her nails if you hold her like a baby. She does not, however, share the same enthusiasm for water in general.

Daye enjoys her walks, but her favorite part is definitely the sniffing. If you let her follow every interesting scent, you may not get very far! She loves taking her time and investigating the world around her. Most of the time, Daye is calm and easygoing, but she has a hilarious secret personality: Gremlin Mode. Get her excited with a game of tug and out comes the cutest little gremlin you've ever seen! She also enjoys chewing on bones and playing with stuffies.

Daye loves attention but isn’t necessarily a super snuggly dog. Her favorite kind of togetherness is curling up between your legs on the couch for a long nap. Her foster family calls this position her “bird’s nest,” and honestly, she seems pretty pleased with the arrangement. She also has a sneaky little habit of licking her people when they least expect it. When greeting people, Daye may give a little excited jump but she settles right in and is happiest simply being around her humans.

A few important things for her future family to know: Daye has a history of pancreatitis, so her diet and treats need to be managed carefully. She is also fully potty trained but occasionally has a little urinary dribble or may have an accident while sleeping. It’s not something she does intentionally and her foster family has learned to work around it.

Daye is also perfectly happy to express herself through fashion! She’ll wear clothes, although she has made it very clear that pajamas are a hard pass. She does, however, appreciate a pretty necklace.

Daye really is the best girl. She’s easygoing without being boring, playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without needing to be glued to you, and always happy to simply be included. Whether she’s sniffing her way through a walk, snoozing in her bird’s nest, playing tug in full gremlin mode, or quietly hanging out beside her people, Daye is just happy to be part of the family.
