Before You Apply...

• You must be 21 years of age to apply

• A vet check is required and needs to be completed before approving your application. All of the adopter's current pets must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations before application approval

‍• A reference check is required before adoption as well as contacting your landlord (if applicable)

• A home check is required and must be complete before adoption

• Puppies under 16 weeks of age are only allowed to be adopted by residents of North Carolina

• Accepting that adopting a dog is an investment financially and with time. Understand that adding a Forgotten, Now Family Dog to your family is both a time and financial commitment

• Understand that no dog is perfect, and each dog's needs are different. You must be willing to commit to the dog on current and future behavioral and medical issues

• The adoption fee includes - all age appropriate shots, deworming, rabies vaccination, microchip and spay/neuter.

All Forgotten, Now Family dog's come vetted based on the dog's needs when rescued and while under our care. Additionally, our dogs are closely monitored while in Forgotten, Now Family Foster homes, and we assess each dog to understand their personality and ideal living situation.

APPLY TO ADOPT
Once completing the above application we will request a few items from you. The faster you provide these items, the faster you can be approved so we always recommend having them ready when you start the application process.
-Current pet's vet records in digital format (We check for up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter proof, and HW status)
-Virtual home check of the common areas (video submissions can be done via email or Instagram DM)

After we have received and reviewed your application and supporting documents we will schedule a phone call to get to know you and you can ask any questions! If both parties choose to move forward, you will then schedule pickup from the foster to begin your new life together!
Quick Facts:
-We reply to applicants within 48 hours
-Adult dogs have a 2-week trial period before the adoption contract is completed
-Puppies under the age of 6 months do not have a trial period
-We require all dogs adopted from us to be spayed/neutered by 6 months
-Age approprate vaccines, deworming, microchip, and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee
-Out-of-area adopters are required to travel to Charlotte to pick up and spay and neuter must happen prior
